Jaxon and Kaitlyn met in freshman algebra at Heritage High School back in 2012. Kaitlyn was already on her way to becoming the band nerd we all know and love, while Jaxon was busy getting recruited for the varsity football team. Jaxon thought Kaitlyn was adorable, so he asked her to homecoming that year—and she said yes! Unfortunately, Kaitlyn was a bit of an awkward 14-year-old and didn’t even dance with him at the dance (she still regrets that). But they stayed friends over the next few years. In their senior year, Jaxon moved to Seminole, TX, for his dad’s job. He graduated there, played football at Wayland Baptist University, and eventually started his teaching career. Kaitlyn graduated from Heritage in Frisco, TX, went to Texas A&M, and then moved back to Frisco to start her career. Four years later, Jaxon decided to move back to Frisco and work in the same district he grew up in. He gave a dating app (Hinge) a shot, and guess who he found—Kaitlyn! He messaged her first, but it was Kaitlyn who suggested they meet for coffee to “catch up.” From that first coffee date, they’ve been together ever since. Kaitlyn will tell you that the moment she saw Jaxon in that coffee shop, she just knew he was the one. Jaxon, on the other hand, took a little longer to figure it out—he didn’t realize it until Kaitlyn showed up at one of his track meets a few weeks later and he mistook her for a parent! It took 12 years, Jaxon moving six hours away, and both of them coming back to Frisco to finally reconnect, but now they’re the happiest they’ve ever been together!
