The market is known for its diverse vendors selling a variety of foods, including produce, meats, seafood, baked goods, fresh vegetables and fruits, and prepared foods! The aquarium is located inside the historic First Energy Powerhouse that once generated electricity for streetcars! The aquarium has 7 galleries and is home to over 1,400 species! The aquarium is full of interactive experiences and unique exhibits! It typically takes between 1 and 2 hours to see the whole aquarium!
The Cleveland Zoo is home to over 3,000 animals and over 600 different species! It is divided into several areas: Australian Adventure, African Savanna, Northern Wilderness Trek, The Primate, Cat & Aquatics Building, Waterfowl Lake, Asian Highlands, and the Bear Hollow! People usually spend 2-4 hours at the zoo!
The Cleveland Botanical Garden is 10 acres located in University Circle, Cleveland! Plants and flowers of all kinds fill the Cleveland Botanical Garden! While you can explore acres and acres of outdoor gardens, CBG also offers two climate-controlled glasshouses! It offers a variety of attractions including themed gardens, a glasshouse, and interactive learning experiences. People typically spend about 2 hours here!
If you are up for making a day trip to Sandusky (about an hour from Cleveland) you should check out Cedar Point! It is known as the “Roller Coaster Capital of the World.” Cedar Point has many record breaking and thrilling roller coasters! The park has 68 rides, a water park, live shows and other entertainment options!
Stan Hywet Hall & Gardens is the 6th largest historic home open to the public, located in Akron (about 30 minutes from Cleveland). The mansion has 65 rooms and is 65,400 square feet! The estate also includes 70 acres of gardens, a greenhouse, carriage house, garden lodge and a playground for kids! We really enjoyed our self-guided tour of the mansion and walking around the estate! People typically spend about 3 hours here!
Playhouse Square is a performing arts center located in downtown Cleveland hosting Broadway shows, concerts, comedy, dance and children’s programming. It's known for its restored historic theaters and attracts over a million guests annually to its 10 performance spaces! It's the second-largest theater district in the US, after Broadway in New York City.
Castle Noel is America’s largest Christmas indoor year-round entertainment attraction! It is located in Medina (about 30 minutes from Cleveland). It is 40,000 square feet and is home to Hollywood Christmas movie props and costumes from movies such as “The Grinch,” “Elf,” and many more! It also has New York City Christmas windows displays from Sak’s Fifth Avenue and Bloomingdales! This is a perfect spot to celebrate Christmas in July! The tour is typically around 2 hours!
