I believe we were 7-8 years old, we both went to watch horseshoes at fireman's park we were jumping back and fourth on picnic tables. Colby had absolutely no interest in playing with me. Throughout school we have little memories of each-other which is strange considering we were a grade apart in a very small school. In the 5th grade I messaged him on Facebook and asked him if he would go out with one of my friends. In the 7th grade I finally actually noticed him but thought I could never date someone a grade below me. Then finally in 8th grade we had shop class together with Mr. Daily, we were messing around and not doing our work together and the teacher said we were made for each other we just both laughed. On the last day of school Colby hugged me and said "I love you." while he was wearing a lime green, striped polo from Areopostel.
We talked all summer just as friends occasionally flirting. Then July 17th, 2015 rolled around Deposit Days, also known as the only thing a young teenager has to look forward to in our tiny town. It was the day we fell in love. Its crazy to say... how could a 13 and 14 year old possibly know what love is. I can't explain it but I loved him that day and every single day following. God knew we needed one another. I can't wait to finally marry my best friend on our 7 year anniversary.
After 5 years together I finally convinced Colby to propose. we picked out my ring together and then planned a trip to lake George for valentines day weekend. Colby queued our song to play when I got out of the shower, we were slow dancing in the bathroom and in the fog of the mirror he wrote "Will you marry me?" then he got down on one knee I of course said yes and we both cried.
