So, one summer before school starts both Kaitlyn and Coby have to get their physicals done for sports. Well, they get put in the same group and run through most of the physicals together. They talked. They flirted. And went on with their lives. Not knowing if they’d ever see each other again. Fast forward to the school year. He’s in band and she’s on the dance team. They have mutual friends and they talk to each other in between every class. They also hang out a few times before games. In groups of course. Getting food, sitting around and waiting for the game to start. They then “date” a little in high school. About 6-9 months, give or take. Dating consisted of just walking each other to classes. So nothing they didn’t do before just now without a crowd. Well, since Kaitlyn was older and was two grades above him, they broke up for good her senior year. Years go by, neither of them talking to the other. Going on with their lives and going to school. 4 years go by and they run into each other at Brazosport Community College. Quickly have a ‘how’ve you been?’ conversation. Exchange numbers and go on with their college lives. A few months go by of just texting here and there. Then they decide to meet up at Brew and Bake. Three hours later and they’re still just laughing and having a good time. And the rest is history!!
It was just a normal day for Kaitlyn, got up that morning while Coby was at “work”, or so she thought. Cleaned the apartment, got her nails done with Trinity and got ready for ‘date night’. She gets ready and he still isn’t home. She starts to worry. He then walks in fully dressed in his blue button up, jeans, boots and cowboy hat! He then wraps a bandana around her eyes because it’s a surprise. About 45 minutes later they are at their location. He tells her to stay in the car and someone will be with her momentarily. A few minutes go by and Coby’s dad comes and walks Kaitlyn into their barn and takes off the blind fold. There he was. At the end of a hay bale lighted path with his guitar. Rose petals all around. Lights and candles hanging down and lighting the path to him. Kaitlyn walks down and stands in front of him and he is singing their favorite song. Live Forever by Kane Brown. As the song ended he gets up, walks over to where she has found her seat, watching and singing along, gets down on one knee and asks for her hand in marriage! Ugly crying, she accepts. They embrace in a hug and kiss and celebrate with his family!!! A night neither one of then will ever forget!!
