In September 2021, Aidan went out to First Fridays on Fourth with a friend when all of a sudden, he saw the most beautiful girl he had ever seen! He had never met her before, but he had seen her around campus before and was looking for an opportunity to get her number. He knew this was as good an opportunity as he would get and that it was time to shoot his shot! He walked up to her and (while forgetting to introduce himself!) said that she was very pretty and asked for her number! She looked scared out of her mind and wondered who he was, where he came from, and what he was doing asking for her number! But after a few basic questions to ensure that he wasn't a serial killer, she finally gave him her number! The rest was history! Kaitlyn was not expecting to meet anybody on this particular day. She had decided to go with a friend to First Fridays on Fourth for the evening. Just as she was deciding to leave, she decided that she wanted to do one last look at the vendors before she left for the night. All of a sudden a random guy in a hat nervously approached her and asked for her number. She was freaking out on the inside and asked where he was from and what his name was but something about him made her trust him enough to give him her number. Through all the walks, car rides, dates, and memories later, she knew pretty quickly that he was everything she had been praying for. The Proposal Kaitlyn had no idea that family weekend at Franciscan would be the time when Aidan asked her to marry him. Kaitlyn's family was in town for the festivities of the weekend, and she suspected nothing. On October 1st, 2022, the feast day of St. Therese of Lisieux, Aidan and Kaitlyn had already decided to go pray at their local church to thank St. Therese for her intercession in their relationship. St. Therese answered many prayers and novenas and worked many miracles over our relationship (a story for another time!) Aidan and Kaitlyn went out to dinner with Kaitlyn's family at the restaurant they had their first date. Aidan started getting antsy saying he didn't feel well and that he needed to leave, so we left and me not suspecting anything still, was so worried for him! He said he felt well enough to go to church to pray as we had planned. So we went in to the candlelit church, just us two and Jesus and prayed and as we got up to go towards the St. Therese statue, he stopped me in the middle of the aisle and got down on one knee. I said the easiest and peace-filled yes of my life. After sobbing and giving thanks to God, we went back to Kaitlyn's apartment and celebrated with our friends and family!
