When should I RSVP by?

We kindly ask that you RSVP by September 26th, 2024!

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

The ceremony will start at 4:30pm, please arrive by 4:15 to comfortably settle in before we begin.

Is there a dress code?

Answer

Semi-formal attire is encouraged. But also life happens so come as you are because you're on the short list of people in our life that we want to spend this special day with. Namaste.

Can I bring a date?

Answer

Due to tight budgets and tight spaces, unfortunately we can't afford for all of our lovely guests to bring a guest of their own. Unless your invitation specifies, then we would prefer it was just you. We promise you'll be around community and will have a great time. Thank you for understanding!

Can I take photos during the ceremony?

Answer

Please refrain, we've hired a rockstar professional who will be getting the best views for us. After the ceremony, snap all of the pics you want!

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

Oh you bet, Hoyt Sherman Place is one of Des Moines' most famous performance venues! There is a large parking lot directly to the east of Hoyt Sherman Place. Otherwise, there is ample street parking in the Sherman Hill neighborhood. Also, to note, Hoyt Sherman Place is an accessible facility with elevators available as an alternative to stairs.

Yes, please make us aware within your RSVP. We want everyone to be able to enjoy themselves!

Are kids welcome?

Answer

This is a kid friendly wedding. We don't plan to provide a sitter, but the site has plenty of space to step away if little ones become unhappy. That said, we're also encouraging parents of very little ones to find a sitter for the night if they feel so inclined for a parent's night out. We'll leave that up to you, just keep us in the loop! Good vibrations.

What will the weather be like this time of year?

Answer

While Iowa can be a tad unpredictable at times in the way of weather, you can pretty confidently plan for a nice cool breeze (especially in the evening) this time of year. We're looking around the 60's. So plan on busting out your light fall layers for maximum comfort!
