We are so excited to celebrate this time in our lives with our closet friends and family. We picked a destination wedding because we want this time to be not only about our wedding but celebrating our lives together. We encourage all our guests to take advantage of this opportunity in December to get away and extend our wedding into a vacation! We can not wait to the start the next chapter with all our closet friends and famliy.
At this point we had been dating for around 3 years, moved in together and adopted our pitty, Lexy. We had just came back from our very expensive trip to Vegas and the Grand Canyon but Scott insisted on going back to Watkins Glen, New York for a long weekend before Kaitlin went back to work. We had gone to Watkins Glen before in the freezing winter but this time we could actually walk the park. We arrived and enjoyed watching the sunset with a beer at Grist Iron Brewery and then continued to a few other breweries before enjoying a bonfire at our bed and breakfast. The next morning we got up early and planned to go to Watkins Glen Park and walk the 3 mile trail. There was alot of discussion on what to wear. It was cold in the morning but was supposed to warm up. Kaitlin kept encouraging Scott to wear shorts but he insisted on wearing jeans. Kaitlin's first hint that something was going on. We arrived at the park and it was crowded but still very pretty. Scott kept letting people go in front of us and waiting so we could be alone to enjoy the scenery. At one point he picked up a small rock and asked if this was the rock Kaitlin was hoping for. Scott decided to save the rock and put it in his pocket. Scott kept on insisting on taking breaks with awkward silences. Kaitlin and Scott made it through the park and stoped for a snack. Still the question was not asked... On our way back through the park, he asked Kaitlin to take a picture of the trail. We were finally alone. Scott joked again about giving Kaitlin the pebble rock as a way of asking her hand in marriage. Kaitlin still said no to the rock. But then Scott stopped and got on one knee and pulled out a tiny black box and said is this better... "Will you marry me?" ..
