We like to think of the dress code as ‘Black Tie Casual’. Wear any solid color- formal or dressy casual. Most importantly, be comfortable and be you.
While we can’t say for certain what Alexandria City restrictions will be, we were told to ‘mask up’ for the ceremony and mask optional for the reception. Even with 75% of our guest vaccinated, bring your mask wherever you go.
We are just shy of 40 guests. Including the photographer and staff at the Alexandrian, we may just hit 40.
The Athenaeum Art Gallery and Courtyard and the Alexandrian Courtyard are privately rented. There will be 1 staff member on site at the Athenaeum, and 3 servers and 1 bartender at the Alexandrian. The only outside vendor will be our Photographer, Whimboy Escavez. If you’re part of the bridal party, there will be 2 hair specialists and 1 makeup artist. They are required to wear masks at all times.
We are hoping for a beautiful, sunny day. Temperature can range from 50 degrees to 75 degrees. Bring a jacket or sweater just in case.
Weather permitting, the ceremony and reception will be outdoors.
We will email family and friends a Zoom link 1 week before the event. Guests who cannot make it in person are welcome to login virtually to watch the ceremony.
Luckily we have our Photographer, Whimboy from 2:00pm-10:00pm. There will be plenty of opportunities to capture the moment.
HECK no! The Alexandrian will have an open bar from 6:00pm until 10:00pm. There will be a variety of red and white wine, champagne, craft beer, and select liquor.
The Alexandrian will be helping us halt the munchies with a late night French fry bar with mini chicken and waffles. If that’s not enough to stop the cravings, King Street has a wide array of fast casual food options.
We ask that you do not take your phones out during the ceremony. Any other questions? Email us at kaitlinalexakaplan@gmail.com or gregorymbrodersen@gmail.com.
