Technically this story starts back in about 2003. Danielle was probably wearing at least one popped collar, and Kaitlin was in the midst of some phase, hippy? emo? preppy? Danielle stumbled out of the closet at 16, but was quiet and shy. They knew of each other, had some friends in common, but always seemed to be just outside each other's circle. Little did they know, they *almost* went to the same college, Danielle fled Westfield as fast as she could, heading off to MCLA. Kaitlin considered the same but wound up at Westfield State. Time passed, they both graduated and started careers. Both were ambitious and hardworking, both bought condos and hoped for a love they weren't sure they would ever find. At some point along the way, Kaitlin too came out. Facebook reconnected them, casually liking each other's posts, realizing how much they had in common. Eventually Kaitlin mustered up the courage to send Danielle a message, from the moment they started talking, the connection was strong. They planned a date, both incredibly nervous. Danielle knew, from the moment they sat down this was different, she was going to fall in love with this girl. Kaitlin however, got nervous, why was this girl looking at her that way? It can't be because she likes me, it must be sinister, I better run. And she did, literally, scurried away after their first quick kiss, leaving Danielle very confused! But patience is something Danielle has a lot of and she stayed Kaitlin's friend, kept up flirting until Kaitlin finally realized this was real. And the rest I suppose is history. Okay, it was messier than that, because isn't life always? But in the end, we fell in love, and we're just as crazy about each other now. We just had to get the timing right.
