Kaitlin’s Version - I will start by saying that I am marrying my brothers’ friend, I always love telling that to people. Fast forward, Antonio became a nurse and started to work at Saint Vincent Hospital. I became a nurse a few years after him and eventually accepted a job at Saint Vincent as well. We would see each other occasionally in the hospital and would always say hi and have a small conversation. My brother and his wife Marina had a baby and asked Antonio and I to be the god parents in 2017. My brother and sister in law lived in Denver at the time and we both traveled there for the baptism. Traveling to Denver was one of the first times that I was truly able to have a conversation with Antonio. I was instantly drawn to him when I saw him playing and laughing with my nieces. He is GREAT with kids and he treats his son like a king. It is the MOST attractive quality. I eventually invited him over for a glass of wine. We were instantly incredibly compatible from the start and have been together ever since. We quickly became devoted to one another. He is my dream person. He supports me, loves my quirks, has never shown jealously or anger, and treats my friends/family with respect. He also loves my cat Moonshine, who is my fluffy little bestie. Our relationship started as a friendship and developed into an engagement filled with laughter, kindness, love, and trust. Antonio’s Version: What she said. – Written by Kaitlin.
Antonio proposed on 11/30/19. We were getting ready to attend an event. I knew it would eventually be happening. I NEVER thought that he would do it on the night we planned to attend this event since it was a work-related thing. We were in the living room about to leave and he called me over to him in front of our Christmas tree. He got down on his knee and asked me to marry him. He made sure his son filmed it on his phone. The moment was captured and I am so thankful for that! I was SO excited that the memory is a blur. I LOVE watching the video. We left to attend the event and saw many of our mutual friends. It was so much fun to announce our engagement to people that know both of us well, it really hyped our excitement. I always said that I wanted the proposal to happen in our home. I loved that the moment allowed for a natural and genuine reaction. Being at home with our family is our favorite place to be, we got engaged in the place that makes us our happiest.
