It all started on Hinge, with a simple like from Alex on one of Kaitlin’s photos—and an equally simple “hi” from Kaitlin in return. What began as a small, everyday moment quickly turned into something much more. Over the next few weeks, we talked about everything—music, TV shows, our jobs, Charlie (who quickly became an important part of our story), and the little details of our daily lives. Conversation came easily, and before long, Alex asked Kaitlin out on our first date: a Friday night coffee at Winans Coffee & Chocolate. We sat at a table by the front door and talked for hours—so long, in fact, that we’re pretty sure we stayed until closing. That night was just the beginning. One date turned into many, and somehow, we never got sick of each other (which felt like a very good sign). Through all of life’s ups and downs—new jobs, everyday wins and losses, moving in together, countless trivia nights, and trips to new places—we kept choosing each other, again and again. Exactly three years to the day of that first date, we went out to celebrate our anniversary at Cooper’s Hawk. But the night wasn’t over yet. After dinner, we drove back to the very same Winans where it all began. Standing in a place filled with memories, Alex asked Kaitlin to marry him with a ring pop, peach rings, and an I.O.U. for a real ring—and of course, she said yes to that very sweet proposal. Now here we are, planning our wedding and so excited to celebrate this next chapter with all of our friends and family!
