Third Time's the Charm?

Welp, here we are again! Our third planned wedding date, and hopefully this one sticks! Apparently, March is just not our month, but we are so excited to be finally celebrating with you this coming November. This time around, the wedding will be taking place in our backyard and with a more intimate guest list. Honestly, it's the wedding we should have planned to begin with and we're really looking forward to it. With COVID-19 still running rampant and with little sign of slowing, we feel it is important to take any precautions necessary. In doing so, we will be taking all possible measures to ensure the safety and comfort of our guests. This includes requiring guests to have been vaccinated, as well as a wristband system based on the guests' comfort. If you have any questions, please feel free to reference the FAQ section of this website, or reach out to us directly. We are really excited to see everyone and finally be able to celebrate, finally!

UPDATE: Let’s Try This Again!

Posted: February 21, 2021

Little did we know that this Pandemic would be in full swing an entire year later. Having postponed again, the new date for our wedding is scheduled for November 13, 2021 and has been downsized to a more intimate event. This date was chosen because it is our original anniversary. We look forward to getting married this day whether it ends up being a beautiful backyard wedding or an enchanting elopement. We will be monitoring the pandemic situation throughout the year leading up to this day in order to help us plan a safe event, which includes reducing our guest list and changing the venue. We hope to have more details available in the coming months.

UPDATE: Wedding Cancelled

As of March 16, 2020, we are cancelling our wedding that was scheduled to happen on March 22, 2020. It means so much to us that you wanted to celebrate with us on our special day. But with things changing by the hour with this pandemic, it was too unpredictable and the health and safety of our friends and family was most important to us. We are planning on pushing the wedding to March 2021 to give the situation plenty of time blow over. We will be updating everyone when we confirm our new date with the venue. Stay safe and stay healthy!

COVID-19 Update

As of March 15, 2020, we are still moving forward with our wedding on 3/22/20. We have reached out to many of you to confirm your attendance. For those of you that can no longer attend, we are happy that you wanted to support us on our big day, but we understand that this situation is out of all of our hands. If you can no longer attend, please let us know ASAP so that we can resubmit our guest count with the venue by Tues. 3/17/20. For those of you that are attending, we are so excited to celebrate with you! The rain has not been behaving itself lately, but we are looking into options for having a tent so that our reception can remain outside in the open air. If you are feeling under the weather or think that you may have been exposed, we ask that you let us know and consider refraining from attending out of respect for other guests. Please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions!

How We Met

The only thing we got out of film school...

It was the Fall semester of 2011 at California State University of Long Beach. Preston and Kaitlin were both studying film and shared two classes. They met in Stu Rosen's class, a class that was not so much about film but the adorable professor's life stories. They picked each other out from across the room, but it took a couple more months before they said a word to each other. Eventually, Preston asked Kaitlin if she wanted to study for an upcoming exam. After studying together at the campus pub, they continued to study together for the following exams that semester. They even switched seats in the giant lecture hall in order to sit next to each other. After the final exam of the semester, they were walking their usual route towards his car and her bike. They parted ways before Preston called her back to ask her out. She said yes...the following day. They had their first date at Golf n' Stuff on December 10, 2011.

The Proposal

The dinner was fine. She was hungover.

Preston and Kaitlin were taking their first trip to Canada! They had booked themselves a New Years' Eve dinner cruise aboard the Vancouver Pride. They found their reserved table upstairs and began to have a romantic evening for about 30 minutes until the loud dance music from downstairs took over. Preston's voice gave out so chatter was minimal, Kaitlin was slightly hungover from the beer tour the previous day, and they accidentally spent their drink tickets on a soda instead of the midnight champagne. When it came time for the New Years' countdown, they went up to the windy deck to watch the fireworks at midnight. About 15 minutes after the fireworks had been going, Preston said some sweet things and got down in a lunge (the floor was quite damp!) then popped the question! Happy New Year 2018!
