FAQs

Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

We're asking guests to dress in cocktail or formal attire. Think cocktail or formal dresses, suits, or tuxes - whatever you feel great celebrating in! Bright colors and patterns are welcome. Please see the attire guides linked below for inspiration. https://www.theknot.com/content/formal-wedding-attire https://www.theknot.com/content/cocktail-wedding-attire

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

We love your kiddos but this party is just for the grown-ups! The only little ones in attendance will be part of the wedding party. We hope you’ll enjoy a well-deserved night out to celebrate with us!

Question

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

Both the ceremony and reception will take place at The Fallbrook House at The Canandaigua Country Club, where there is a free parking lot available. There will be event signage when you pull up to the venue.

Question

Have you reserved blocks of rooms at one or more hotels?

Answer

No, we haven’t reserved room blocks for our wedding. That said, we’ve shared a list of nearby accommodation recommendations on our Travel page to make planning easy. We encourage you to book early, and please feel free to stay wherever feels most comfortable for you. We can’t wait to celebrate together!

Question

Will your wedding be indoors or outdoors?

Answer

Our afternoon ceremony and cocktail hour will be outdoors on a patio, while the reception will take place indoors. Since we’ll be celebrating on the lake, we recommend bringing a light sweater and sunglasses — and planning for a gentle breeze.

Question

Will there be a shuttle to and/or from the hotel(s) for the wedding?

Answer

While we won’t be providing guest transportation throughout the weekend, the good news is that everything is conveniently close. Canandaigua is a charming small town, and many hotels and local lodging options are just minutes away from the venue. Hotel Canandaigua is located right next door — just a quick 10-minute walk to the celebration. For other accommodations, ride-share services are readily available and make getting around easy.

Question

Am I allowed to bring a plus-one?

Answer

To ensure we can thoughtfully plan for everyone attending, we’re only able to accommodate the guest(s) listed on your invitation. While we wish we could include everyone, we’re unable to extend additional plus-ones beyond those named on your invitation.
