Through a series of unfortunate events named Dan and Mike, Kaitlyn and Pete became friends their freshman year at Bucknell University. It’s hard to say at what moment they fell in love, but Kaitlyn’s homemade mozzarella sticks definitely played an integral role. Their mutual love of good cooking made for many fun dates, and they accumulated a lot of good recipes by the time they graduated. Their first jobs out of college were in New York City, and they would meet up for dinner before their commutes home to Long Island. After powering through the commuter life for a while, they took the leap and rented their first apartment together in Queens. When Maddie and Dexter joined their happy home as kittens a few months later, they realized they were in it for the long run, and that’s when Pete knew he eventually would propose.
Since they always spent Thanksgivings with their families, Kait and Pete had a tradition of making their own Thanksgiving dinner to eat together before the official holiday. They had finished preparing their feast and had just sat down to eat and opened a nice bottle of wine. When it came time for a toast, Pete came around the table and got down on one knee and told Kaitlyn about how lucky he was to have her in his life, and Kait said "YES!". With all the excitement and adrenaline, they couldn’t even eat for a few hours afterwards, but did eventually sit down together for their first meal as fiancées.
We got married on our original date and had an intimate ceremony and reception on Zoom! We even planned a virtual honeymoon in Italy =) See photo page for some pictures!
