Our Story: The Short

Kait and Evan were chasing each other since middle school but could never get their timing right until 2020 when they rekindled their flame. They have been happily in love ever since; The End!

Our Story: The Long

Kait and Evan’s love story started back in middle school at Forest Park. Kait was a 7th grader, and Evan, the super cool 8th grader (because being one year older was everything back then). Both secretly harbored crushes on each other, though they were a little too shy to admit it at first. Their first real hangout? A 2009 spring break trip to Panama City Beach where both their families happen to be vacationing, and Kait was swooning over the "older guy." Fast forward to that summer before high school when they reconnected at a movie theater. Evan made his move, putting his arm around Kait, and she was officially smitten. Soon after, Kait entered high school, was rocking Evan’s football jersey on game day, AND got her very first kiss. She felt like the coolest girl alive. But alas, young love isn’t always smooth sailing. Evan ghosted Kait later that year, leaving her shattered and finding solace in Taylor Swift’s Speak Now album (which was released that fall). By Evan’s senior year and Kait’s junior year, the spark reignited. They had their first dinner date (a heated debate continues: Red Robin vs. Applebee's), Evan had flowers delivered to Kait’s math class to ask her to prom, Kait wore Evan's superfan shirt to his baseball games, and they filled each other’s yearbooks with gushy love letters. But just as things seemed perfect, Evan headed off to college. They spent a bittersweet summer sneaking around (because Evan got grounded for streaking—classic) and making memories before realizing the timing just wasn’t right. Through college, they stayed in touch—Snapchatting, texting, and hanging out during breaks—always feeling like maybe someday. Even Kait’s college friends knew about Evan, and all of Evan’s friends knew about Kait. Everyone knew they were meant to be; they just couldn’t quite get the timing right. Then came 2020. COVID brought Evan home from baseball and Kait home from Florida for what was supposed to be a three-week trip. Three weeks turned into three months, and the flame that had flickered for years became a fire. This time, Evan was not letting Kait go. From there, they made up for lost time: dating long-distance, traveling together for baseball, moving in together in 2022, buying a house in St. Pete in 2023, and finally getting engaged in 2024. Now, they’re getting married in 2025, thrilled that they finally got their timing right. And they can't wait to celebrate with you all!!!!!
