The Right Swipe

Our modern love story begins with a little help from oysters, wine and a dating app. Despite living in the same neighborhood, we swiped right (that’s how dating apps work!), exchanged messages and planned our first date at Boston’s North Square Oyster. Em arrived first (of course!) and spotted Kait through the restaurant window. At the same moment, Kait looked up and her eyes met with Em’s. When we recall this moment now, we joke about how in this moment we both totally knew we were in trouble (and the t.swift kind, ya know?) Em fell in love with Kait’s openness, quick-witted honesty and taste buds (Kait actually loves oysters the most!) Kait fell in love with Emily’s natural confidence, adventurous spirit and willingness to let Kait eat directly off of her plate. Since that night, we continue to share many adventures together. We traveled to Montreal, London, Denver, San Diego, St. John, Hawaii and New York City - making sure to find the best neighborhood spots (the ones that only the locals know about!) We survived living in a 600 square foot apartment through the pandemic, although barely because we subsequently survived a home renovation and move! We take care of (and she requires A LOT :) of care) our pup, Luna together. We opened In Good Company, our lifestyle and gift shop in the neighborhood we love, South Boston, MA. We’ve planted roots in our community and expand those roots everyday by being out and proud queer women. Our modern love story is rooted in just that, love (well love and communication, patience, learning, laughter and an extra bedroom). We cannot wait to celebrate our love with each other and with all of you!
