Our love story begins how most college relationships do.. you guessed it. A house party. Kailyn was just returning from studying abroad in Italy and had a sorority dance during the spring semester of 2013. Fortunately, a mutual friend introduced us and set us up as dates for the dance. Matthew and Kailyn went to the dance together, and the rest was history.. We moved to Boston in 2016 and have enjoyed all that New England has to offer from restaurant and brewery hopping, hiking and skiing in New Hampshire, to spending summer days down on Cape Cod. We love it here!
Matthew knew Kailyn always wanted to visit Maine, so he planned Kailyn a birthday getaway to Bar Harbor. Little did Kailyn know, this wasn’t just a birthday weekend, it was something much bigger. While on a hike in Acadia National Park, Matthew proposed to Kailyn! We celebrated with hiking, scenic ocean drives, lighthouse tours, picnics, and tons of good food and drinks! Fun fact Bar Harbor has the world's best blueberry pancakes, and yes we did eat them every morning. Funny story about proposing, for years Matthew would get down on one knee and act like he was proposing, so when he finally popped the question for real Kailyn asked "are you serious?" before saying yes. He also drove to multiple spots around Acadia and would ask Kailyn "so this is really pretty.. right?" trying to gauge the perfect setting to propose. Needless to say, it was perfect. We’ve had a fun and exciting two year engagement and just recently added the first addition to our family, Murphy the bernedoodle! We can't wait to celebrate our special day with you in our home city and the same church that Kailyn's parents got married in over 30 years ago. See you in September!
