We met while both working at Fossil. Somehow, we went 5 whole years without ever crossing paths. In 2015, we ended up sitting & working on the same floor. Glances were passed, hello's were exchanged, Instagram connections were made and finally in 2016, Kailey bit the bullet and asked Jon on a date.
On Halloween in 2017, while carving pumpkins at Kailey's house in Dallas, we said "I love you" for the very first time. Fast forward to Halloween 2020, we're living in Southern California during a global pandemic and, as we found out, a city-wide carving-pumpkin shortage. We were determined to do something festive, however, since the holiday always held a special place for both of us. So we bought up as many overlooked gourds and mini-pumpkins as we could, snagged a few bottles of spray paint and decided we would paint pumpkins instead! We outfitted our garage with plastic and cut out several fun, handmade stencils of hearts, initials, jack-o-lantern faces, etc. Then we cracked open some beers, turned on classic Halloween tunes and went to town! As we were finishing up and heading back inside, Jon got down on one knee and proposed. Through hysterical laughter and tears, Kailey said YES and we were engaged. We're so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you! See you in Ojai!
