Kailey and I went to the same university for the same time period, had much of the same social circle (due to the widely accepted ultimate frisbee and architecture crossover) and classes, likely stood shoulder to shoulder at the same cookouts, house parties and crowded bars...but never met until both happened to move to Chicago. Once here, we happened to live off of the same street and were introduced by our mutual friend Charlie. It was only years later after dating that I discovered the first apartment Kailey toured when shopping for her first home in Chicago was - in fact - my apartment. I happened to be in the pub downstairs to vacate the unit for the tour. Small world. Ultimately, it's not the shared circumstances (or even shared interests) that bring you together but the shared values, of which I'm lucky to report we have many. We are excited to welcome friends and family up to our adopted hometown to spend time together and join families in the place where we met.
