The 760-acre (3.1 km2) park includes Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium, the Rose Garden, Rhododendron Garden, beaches, trails, a boardwalk, a boathouse, a Washington State Ferries ferry dock for the Point Defiance-Tahlequah route to Vashon Island, Fort Nisqually, most notably about 400 acres of old-growth forest. It receives more than three million visitors every year.

Wooden city is one of my favorite restaurants! Dan and I had our first official date here, it definitely holds a special place in our hearts. There craft cocktails are delicious, my personal favorite is there whiskey sour. Their dry rubbed wings are also a hit. Walking distance to devils reef, matodor and McMenamins elk temple.

Best market to grab some Groceries or grab lunch on the go before you on an adventure around Tacoma. Get “The cookie” located in the bakery. They serve them warm, it’s the best cookie you with ever have, you wont regret it!
If your up for an adventure just 2 1/2 hours from Tacoma is a village called Leavenworth. It is a Bavarian-styled village in the Cascade Mountains, in central Washington State. Alpine-style buildings with restaurants serving German beer and food line Front Street. It is such a fun day trip and the drive up there is beautiful.
Located just 45 mins from Tacoma is University Village. Its Seattle's only outdoor lifestyle shopping center, offering a unique mix of locally-owned boutiques, signature national retailers, and a distinct collection of restaurants and eateries. It’s one of my favorite places to shop and they have amazing restaurants. You could easily spend all day here. Its honestly the most beautiful shopping village. Feeling hungry? Go to Mr. West for brunch, they have great coffee/drinks and there avocado toast is spot on. Dan’s personal favorite is the restaurant Din Tia Fung, there dumplings are to die for. Joeys is also a great place for appetizers and drinks. Highly recommend going here for a fun shopping day.
