We first started talking in February of 2022 after matching online, something neither of us really expected to turn into anything serious. From the beginning, our conversations felt easy and natural. We spent weeks messaging before ever meeting, getting to know each other through stories, playlists, and life updates, all while laughing along the way. When we finally met in person, we were both a little nervous, but the very first thing Aries said to me was, “You are the most beautiful person I have ever seen.” In that moment, the nerves disappeared, and we spent the entire night talking, laughing, and feeling like we had somehow known each other forever. The next morning included coffee and a drive home, and before saying goodbye, we already had plans to see each other again that very night. From then on, we simply kept showing up for each other day after day. We grew closer through long car rides, late night takeout, funny cooking experiments, and endless conversations about everything and nothing. On October 26, 2024, Aries asked me to marry him, and without hesitation, I said yes. Looking back, it wasn’t one big moment that defined us, but all the small, thoughtful, funny moments in between. And now, here we are, excited and a little emotional as we begin this next chapter together.
Aries planned the most thoughtful proposal, one that was perfectly us. The evening began at Dave and Buster’s where we played skee ball, my favorite game and something that never fails to make me laugh. From there, he suggested a drive through downtown Boise. I was a little confused as he kept looping around the same streets, not realizing that something so special was waiting just a few turns away. At the Rose Garden, under the gazebo, his mom, dad, and sister were quietly at work setting up candles in the shape of a heart. When we arrived, Aries took my hand and led me toward the glowing scene. He began telling me how much he loved me, his voice calm but full of emotion. Then, just like on the very first night we met, he looked at me and said again that I was the most beautiful person he had ever seen. That was when I noticed it, an LED sign shining with the words “Will you marry me?” Time seemed to slow down in that moment, surrounded by candlelight and the people who mean the most to us. I said yes, and the night only became more special from there. Aries had made dinner reservations at Chandler’s, where we celebrated with an incredible meal. Since it was Halloween weekend, we continued the celebration with friends downtown, laughing and soaking in the joy of the night. While all of that was happening, his mom, dad, and sister snuck into our home and filled it with hundreds of white flowers. Walking into that beautiful surprise later was overwhelming in the best way. Every single detail had been carefully planned by Aries, and it was everything I could have ever dreamed of.
