Things To Do
Clifden & Sky Road
Clifden is the largest town in Connemara, great place to stay or visit for lunch and puttering around. The Sky Road is a twenty-kilometre scenic loop located near Clifden - with tons of look-outs making for a nice drive, walk, or bike ride (although pretty steep at points).
Dog's Bay Beach
This is just one of the many beautiful nearby beaches. Definitely recommend getting in a daily beach walk, maybe a dip if you're bold.
Connemara Championship Golf Links
Have already got a couple questions about Golf :)... Not speaking from experience, but Ireland is meant to have some of the best courses in the world! This seems to be the best course near the venue, highlighting the scenic views and unique terrain of Connemara.
Kylemore Abbey
Waterside, Gothic Benedictine nunnery with restored Victorian rooms and free garden tours. Great for a day trip and walk throughout the gardens.
Connemara National Park
Some 7000 acres of mountains, bogs, heaths and grasslands, with wildlife and scenic walking trails.
Guinness Storehouse
Touristy, but worth the visit! Ends with a tasting on a their rooftop bar.
Inishbofin
Small island with bars, restaurants, art and nice walks. You can catch the ferry from Cleggan pier.
Trinity College Dublin
Check out the Long Room or the Book of Kells or just stroll around the campus when you're in town.
