Wedding Party

Darian Weber

Maid of Honor

Darian has known me since my day one and I’ve known her since her day 1,095. If you’re a math wizard, that’s exactly three years. Yes, we’re sisters born three years apart but lucky enough to share the same birthday: April 13. As long as I can remember, my day-to-day mission was keeping up with Darian. If she biked to school, I biked to school. If she climbed a tree, I climbed that same tree. If she created something cool, I had to try it too. That pattern followed us into sports, academics, and every new hobby we discovered. I’ve learned so much from her by watching, by asking questions, and simply by living life alongside her. Together we’ve paddled glacial lakes and northern rivers, hiked mountains in both summer and winter, and bushwhacked our way to trails using a compass and a little bit of luck. Darian is the best big sister and the kind of role model every younger sibling hopes for. Now, as a mom to two wonderful little boys, she continues to lead with strength, kindness, and adventure. From a lifetime of experience, I know there’s no better person to learn from. I’m so honoured she’ll be standing by my side as my Maid of Honour on my wedding day.

Courtney Hughs

Bridesmaid

Courtney I met Courtney in a weightlifting gym in Peace River, Alberta. She was a serious CrossFitter, and for someone small, she was hella mighty. From the very start, we realized we had a lot in common: fitness, hiking, animals, volunteering, and Africa. Our shared admiration for Africa eventually took us to Tanzania for a three-week adventure. We experienced so much together ; sleeping in airports, bumping along unforgiving dirt roads to remote communities, playing soccer with village kids, running a 10K in the Serengeti, and camping among lions, hyenas, and water buffalo. You don’t take a trip like that with just anyone, and I knew then we’d be friends for life. Since then, we’ve run countless trails, hiked mountains, lifted weights, ridden horses, eaten amazing food, laughed a lot, and made even more memories. Courtney works hard at everything she does, is very ambitious, has a tender heart for animals, and has a real drive to make a difference. I’m so grateful she’s standing by my side on our wedding day and in all the days and years to come.

Carmen Levis

Bridesmaid

Little did Carmen know, I remember watching her play provincial soccer when I was in my early teens and being completely blown away by her skill and endurance. She was two years ahead of me, so I never imagined I’d get the chance to play on the same team someday. Fast forward to university, and as fate would have it, we both ended up on the Saskatchewan Huskies women's soccer team. I felt like I was surrounded by the best of the best, and Carmen absolutely proved she belonged there. She was all business, focused, disciplined, and completely locked into the game. That is, until we found ourselves at a slightly sketchy bar for a Malpractice Mixer and I met Carmen 2.0: one of the happiest, most fun, and vivacious people I’ve ever known. It was very much “business in the front, party in the back,” and I instantly knew I wanted to be part of this life and friends with this girl forever. Carmen is career-driven, incredibly adaptable (seriously, she has moved a lot), passionate about health, travel and helping others, and now brings all of that energy into being an amazing mom. I’m so grateful she’ll be standing beside me on my wedding day and alongside me through all the big moments life has to offer.

Ethan Wood

Best Man

Ethan has been by my side since day one. He wasn’t exactly thrilled about having a little brother at first, and it took him about 16 years to fully come around, but I eventually won him over, and we’ve been close ever since. Growing up, I learned a lot just by watching him. There were definitely a few lessons on what not to do, but far more lessons on what to do. Watching Ethan pursue his sport showed me how hard I needed to work to push myself. His drive and dedication had me in the gym trying to keep up and eventually trying to surpass him. Even now, I still look up to him. His confidence, social skills, and ability to hold a conversation on almost any topic is something I truly admire. Having my big brother as my best man, standing beside me, supporting me, is truly special.

Tyson Bell

Groomsman

I met Tyson on the very first day of college orientation. I don’t think I’ve ever made a friend that easily, especially with someone who made fun of me within the first five minutes. But that’s just who he is. Big body, big mouth… and an even bigger heart. For a guy who acts so tough, he’s actually one of the biggest sweethearts I know. From hitting the bars in downtown Calgary to summer hikes and mountain adventures, we’ve made a lot of great memories. Living together in second year really sealed the deal. You don’t truly know someone until you live with them, and living with Tyson was an absolute blast. We had a pretty good thing going during those school years. We’ve shared countless laughs, lake days, and competitive moments, and by competitive, I mean me winning. It’s always nice playing sports with him since he’s not exactly the most athletic. If I ever need a golf confidence boost, I know exactly who to call. For all the chirping and losses on the scorecard, he’s a first-round draft pick as a friend, and I am thankful to have him by my side.

Elias Chaulk

Groomsman

Elias was the very first person I met in high school, and we became fast friends. He didn’t like me much at first, but after spending more time together, we quickly became inseparable. With both of us playing competitive hockey, we had plenty to bond over. I eventually convinced him to start working out with me, and that took our friendship to another level. There’s something about being in the trenches together, pushing each other’s buttons and pushing each other to be better, that builds a bond fast. I’ll never forget one workout in particular. We were finishing squats (shocker, I know), and were supposed to stop at 10 reps. I did 11. Elias did 12. I couldn’t live with that, so I did another set to get 13. What started as a workout turned into an all-out competition, and we loved every second of it. From workouts and video games to sleepovers, ski trips, and a 21-day road trip sleeping in his truck all the way to San Diego, we’ve done a lot together. I’m a very blessed man to have him in my life.
