Is there a dress code?

Answer

Dress in what you are comfortable in! The ceremony is at Collier Street Church and the reception at Sherbrooke farm. You may dress up, or choose to attend in something more country chic. Please note is is recommend if wearing heels, to bring a change of footwear for the reception. In addition, please dress for the weather, both venues are without a/c.

Will there be drinks at the bar?

Yes! A toonie bar, all drinks from the bar will be $2

How do I get to Collier Street United Church for the ceremony?

Answer

Here's the address for Collier Street United Church: 112 Collier St, Barrie, ON L4M 1H3. It is at the northwestern corner of Collier Street and Poyntz Street.

What is parking like at Collier Street United Church?

Answer

There are approximately 44 parking spots either in the church's parking lot or right in front of the church on the street. There is also a lot of additional street parking, which is free on evenings and weekends, available on the south side of Collier Street and south on Poyntz Street if no other spots remain.

Where is the reception being held? How do I get there from Collier Street United Church?

Answer

Our reception will be held at Sherbrooke Farm in Innisfil, approximately 20 minutes away from the church. The address is 900 Big Bay Point Road, Innisfil, ON. Here are step-by-step directions: 1) Head west on Collier Street toward Mulcaster Street. Turn left onto Mulcaster Street. 2) Mulcaster Street turns slightly right and becomes Simcoe Street. Continue on Simcoe Street for 0.6km. 3) Turn left onto Toronto Street. Toronto Street quickly turns into Lakeshore Drive. 5) Keep on Lakeshore Drive for 2.7km, passing 3 sets of traffic lights. At the fourth set, turn left to keep on Lakeshore Drive. 6) Lakeshore Drive turns into Hurst Drive. Stay straight on Hurst Drive for 3.5km. 7) At the lights, turn left onto Big Bay Point Road and keep on it for approximately 6.5km. Turn left onto 900 Big Bay Point Road. NOTE: The reception will be inside the barn, so no need to worry about rain.

Is there anything in particular you would like as a gift?

Answer

The most important thing to us is that you are able to celebrate with us on our wedding day. However, if you wish to give a gift, please see the "Registry" tab at the top of the page to be directed to our registries. We would also be extremely grateful for any monetary contributions that we can put towards our honeymoon and starting the next chapter of life together.

I'm coming from out of town, what should I know?

Answer

Firstly, if you are arriving by plane, the best airport to fly into is Toronto Pearson Airport, which is about 50 minutes away from Barrie/Innisfil by car. Also, please take a moment to look at the "Hotels" tab at the top of the website to see a variety of local hotels to stay in during your time in the area. We are so thankful you are travelling to be with us on our special day!

Will food and drinks be served at the reception?

Answer

Yes! Our reception is being catered by Big Grill Catering. They will be serving appetizers, salad, a BBQ entrée (or a vegetarian lasagna for those with dietary restrictions) along with a dessert and late-night poutine buffet! A variety of sodas, beer, wine and water will also be served.

What is the weather like in August?

Answer

The average weather for the area in August is anywhere between 14°C in the evening and 25°C during the day at it's peak. (That's 57°F to 77°F for our American friends and family)
