How We Met: Kailee's perspective

Paxton and I were in an English class together during our sophomore year of college in 2017. In our first few weeks of class, the professor paired up everyone in the class by using an online random generator. We were told to exchange emails with our partner and to meet outside of class to write papers about each other. Paxton messaged me and wanted to meet up to work on our papers on a Friday night and then go out to parties together. I immediately said I was busy and didn't want to meet up anymore. I told my sister, Kaidra, what happened and that I wanted to email him questions for our papers instead. She responded by saying "You have to meet up with him. What if he is your future husband?!". I thought there was no way this guy could be my future husband, but I always took Kaidra's advice, even if I thought she was crazy. Paxton and I met one weekday night to learn about each other's lives to write our papers about each other. I came prepared with questions so we could make it quick because I thought it would be awkward meeting up with a random person. We ended up talking for hours about random topics and we didn't even talk about our papers. It was such a fun night! We started hanging out more, and all of our friends instantly became friends too. After hanging out almost everyday for 2 months as friends, we decided to try dating in November of 2017, knowing we didn't want to lose our friendship in the process. Here we are 4+ years later, and I couldn't imagine my life without someone as loving, patient, and supportive as Paxton. We have been through so many highs and lows in our lives in the past 4+ years, and Paxton has been my rock through it all. Without Kaidra pushing me to meet up with a random guy in English class, we wouldn't be where we are today. That is so special to the both of us as Kaidra was the biggest supporter of our relationship.

How We Met: Paxton's Perspective

It was the first day of school my sophomore year and I was sitting in English class. I was one of the first people to enter the classroom. I got a good seat where I could see everybody who walked in, so I could see if there was anyone that I would want to get to know a little more and becomes friends with. 10:00 am hit and there wasn’t anyone that I thought I would vibe with. A few minutes after 10, Kailee walked into the classroom and I was like, "wow she’s beautiful". I was too shy to ever talk to her. 3 weeks later, we were assigned to write a paper about another student in the class and the hobby they are interested in. As the professor was showing on the screen who we were paired with, I saw my partner was Kailee Myxter, and I didn't know who that was until that same beautiful girl in the class started walking towards me. I told myself to not mess this up now that I have to write about her. I shot my shot and asked for her snapchat, trying to be smoother than just asking for her email. She gave it to me, and I walked out and gave myself a massive fist bump. I walked home to my buddies and told them I get to write a paper about the most beautiful girl in my class. They were pumped for me. A few days later when I got some liquid courage in me, I sent her a snapchat. She responded within 5 minutes, and I was excited. We got to talking a bit. After a day or so of just talking I asked if she wanted to meet up and discuss about the topic of the paper we were supposed to write and learn more about each other. I found out that she was a dancer. I knew absolutely nothing about dance, so I played extra dumb and she loved teaching me about it. I loved spending time with her, so it was a win win situation for me. She ended up writing a portion of my paper for me. It was the best paper I wrote in my life and I will always remember that class. Thank you, Mr. Berg. P.S. I got a better grade on my paper than Kailee (:

Our Proposal

I surprised Paxton with a trip to Nashville for his birthday in January 2021. While we were there, Paxton wanted to go to this place called the Love Circle that overlooked the city. I thought this was weird as Paxton doesn't usually like places like this, but I agreed to go because it was something different for us. In the middle of our first full day in Nashville at the Love Circle, he proposed! We were able to spend the rest of the weekend together exploring Nashville and celebrating. It was such a fun weekend!
