Beginnings…. As most of you know, Mark and Kailee met their freshman year in High School. They had the same friend group and hung out all the time at football games, school activities, parties, you name it. They were just friends, even though Mark made it very clear that he wanted it to be more. Kailee was (mostly) oblivious to that fact, and was happy being really great friends. After graduation, they went their separate ways, as high school friends sometimes do. Fast forward 4 years later, Kailee and Mark reconnected at a friends’ memorial service, and the rest, they say, is history. They started hanging out together with their mutual friend, Misty, and Mark’s friend Alex, and got to know each other all over again. Kailee started to see Mark in a “not just a friend” way, and Mark had always held a special place in his heart for Kailee. Their first date was October 20, 2019 and they became official on December 20, 2019. Currently… Kailee and Mark moved to Charlotte , NC in February of 2021. Mark started his career at PSA/American Airlines and has worked his way up from First Officer to Captain. Kailee started her career at ORC Infrastructure and Utilities Services as Accounts Payable and is currently a Staff Accountant there. Mark and Kailee moved to the South End area of Charlotte and they loved being in the city, close to friends, and being able to walk to great shops, restaurants, breweries, and everything South End had to offer. Unfortunately, Oakleigh and Scout, their fur-babies, needed more room to roam, so they moved to the burbs into a house with a great yard for the pups. After a year and a half of suburban life, (and Mark driving 45 minutes to the airport one-way), they have now moved back to the city. They now live in the Plaza section of Charlotte, in a cute house with a HUGE yard for Oakleigh and Scout. A Special Time… Kailee and Mark love to travel and they have been fortunate enough to travel to some wonderful places. The most incredible trip was to Italy last summer. They spent ten days traveling the country. They traveled to Rome and Sorrento after their first stop in Lake Como, Italy where Mark had planned the most romantic and beautiful proposal. He arranged for a photographer to be there under the pretense of pictures for family, and then he proposed under the arches of the Villa del Balbianello, on Lake Como. To say that Kailee was completely shocked and surprised is an understatement! It was perfect! The Future… Kailee and Mark plan on traveling together to countless places, and creating beautiful memories as they go, for the rest of their lives. They can’t wait to share the next “Beginning” with all of you at their wedding.
