If everything goes according to plan, the ceremony will start at 3:00 pm. We ask that all guests be there at least 30 minutes before the start time, so at or before 2:30. We also ask to allow for a 15-minute grace period after 3:00 pm just in case stuff happens to get slightly off schedule.
We plan to have the ceremony and reception done by 7:00 pm. If you need to leave any time after the ceremony you are welcome to, we do not expect everyone to stay the entire time especially people who are driving in the day of. We would love for everyone to spend as long as they can with us that day but we understand needing to leave early. All we ask is that you come and say goodbye to both the bride and the groom that way we can say a proper goodbye and thank you in person for coming.
This is the parking requirements word for word stated by the venue in our contract. Oak Hill Farms has designated areas to park in. We ask that you do not park in the grass but in the gravel lot provided. Under no circumstances are you allowed to drive around behind the barn to unload. All loading and unloading must be done from the circle drive in front of the barn. Oak Hill Farms is not responsible for theft, damage, or any valuables left in vehicles on the premises. Vehicles may be left on the premises overnight if staff of OHF knows about it and arrangements are made to be picked up the next day.
There is no specific dress code but we ask that you come dressy casual. If it is something you would wear to church it is approved. Our wedding colors are light pastels so if you want to keep that in mind when choosing what to wear you can but it is not required. The only colors we ask you not to wear are white (obviously) and full black attire.
We are asking that no children under the age of 10 attend. The venue is not the safest place for children as it is a working farm and there are a lot of high areas that would be accessible for the children to reach. So for everyone's safety, we ask that any parents with children under the age of 10 find childcare for that given day. Sorry for any inconvenience.
We will only be providing cake, finger foods, water, and soft drinks. We ask that everyone eat something beforehand because dinner will not be provided.
No! We will not be providing any alcohol whatsoever and no alcohol is allowed on the premises of the venue. If you are found to have any kind of alcohol on you, you will be asked to leave. The venue has a strict rule on alcohol and we do not want to be fined.
We ask that you message one of us to RSVP. This way we can tell who exactly is planning to come and get the guest numbers easier. A follow-up message will be sent a month before the wedding to everyone who RSVPs to make sure you still plan to attend and that no unexpected situations have come up.
No. We have made sure to invite the exact people we want to celebrate with for this special day. We ask that the only people that come are if your name is on an invitation.
We want to have the ceremony in the venues outside area, however, if the weather does not allow us to do that then the ceremony will move inside to where the reception will be and we will just switch the room over from the ceremony to the reception.
These are the rules of the venue that were in our contract that apply to our wedding, we ask that all guests follow the rules of the venue. 1. NO CONFETTI is allowed OUTSIDE at the barn!
