Kaila and Nick met at West Virginia University on August 15th 2015. Picture this…first day back at WVU after a long summer break and you meet your soul mate! Is that a dream…no, because that is the exact story that started Kaila and Nick’s journey. On this hot summer day, the college campus was vibrant, and filled with excitement for the start of a new school year. As Kaila was moving into her new house with roommates Ali Smith, Andrea Hess, Sydney Corbitt, and Joanne Yahn there was Nick meeting up with his hockey teammates that lived the next door over. As the day progressed Sydney who had mentioned Nick to Kaila in the past spotted Nick sitting over at the Hockey house. At that very moment Sydney’s persistency paid off! Sydney ran to Kaila and told her that she had to go meet “BURT.” Miss independent Kaila was not thrilled but decided she would go meet this guy named “Burt.” Walking up the stairs to the hockey house Sydney grabbed Burt and said, “Burt I need you to meet Kaila.” Kaila looked up at Nick and the rest of the evening they talked, laughed, and danced the night away.
