I was born and raised in southern California. Morgann was born in Guadeloupe (a little French island in the Caribbean). He grew up back and forth between Guadeloupe and France. Both of us moved to Texas over 10 years ago and this is where we met! In the great city of AUSTIN, TEXAS! On September 7, 2019 we met at a dance club called Barbarella. We both were newly single and out dancing with friends enjoying our new found freedom. That all quickly changed. Morgann saw me first and offered me a drink. I accepted and chatted with him for a bit, then we went separate ways. At the end of the night, he found me again. This time offering me a water (what a good guy!). We also started talking more and I found everything he said more attractive with his French accent. We were about to say our goodbyes when my friend Jerrad suggested we all go back to my complex jacuzzi. Morgann said OK, leaving all his friends behind, and we all hopped in an Uber. Jerrad was the match maker. After some time hanging out in the jacuzzi, Jerrad saw that there was clearly chemistry between us, so he left. Morgann and I continued to talk, text, and hangout together just about every single day to follow. What was first our new found single life, quickly became our new found love. We were inseparable from the start. And now we couldn't imagine a life apart.
100% complete surprise! Morgann and I had a trip to California planned that December. Before we left Morgann called my grandmother Angel. He asked her if it would be ok to plan his proposal while we were in San Diego. He knew how much my grandmother means to me and really wanted to include her for this special day. The first day of the trip, my father, Don and aunt Cindy also came to visit. Everyone decided to go take a walk on the beach. While walking, Morgann challenged me to a race up the beach. He knows I love to run so it was an easy, "Ok, but I'm gonna smoke you." Morgann tells all the family to get their phones out and record the race. We line up, ready...set...go! I took off, leaving Morgann in my dust. But when I turned back around, Morgann was holding his ankle in pain. I ran back to check on him, right then he pulls out the little box hidden in the side of his sock. Getting on one knee, showing me the gorgeous diamond ring, he asked, "Will you marry me?" He timed it perfectly for sunset. STUNNED. SPEECHLESS. Tears start, and I drop my phone and then I drop too. When reality set in, I gave him a kiss. Followed by raising my arms and yelling, "YES! " for the everyone on the beach the hear. I couldn't have been more excited or happy in that moment. All caught on camera. When we got home there was a beautiful candle lit French inspired meal waiting. All put together by my grandparents, Angel and Gilbert and one of Angel's close friends. It was a truly perfect day.
