We became friends on Facebook because of multiple mutual friends. I started noticing every time JJ would like anything I posted, he just stood out to me for some reason. One night I was out with my friends and I posted a picture and of course he liked, I thought about it for a little while and my best friend finally told me to go for it, so I took the first leap and messaged him. I took him by surprise because he later told me that he was just sitting around with some friends playing domino's and he couldn't believe that I messaged him. We just started talking and hit it off extremely well. We found out we had so much in common. After a few weeks we decided to meet when he came home for Lumbee Homecoming. I invited him over to my house to cook for him because I knew he hated dinning in at restaurants. While I was inside cooking I didn't pay my phone any attention. My dad came in the back door and JJ came in behind him. I was mortified. How did my dad get to met him before I did? He told me he tried to call but my dad seen him pull up and walked over there to talk to him. They sat outside for at least 30 minutes talking and sharing a beer before I even knew he was there. We all sat around the grill and talked for hours like we had been family all along. I guess, in a way, we were always meant to become one.
