The Bamboo Inn (https://bambooinn.com) is an older BnB that I've been working at. It has a great ocean view and huge bathtub in each room. Hana Maui INN (https://hanainn.com/rooms/) is a cheaper place to stay in Hana. Hana Maui Resort by Hyatt (https://www.hyatt.com/en-US/hotel/hawaii/hana-maui-resort/oggal) is a great hotel with all the amenities. The rooms are nice and the pool is amazing. Probably the most expensive place to stay in Hana. Absolutely! Please buy some food for you and your family before you drive the road to Hana, I suggest you grab some quick breakfast things, two lunch meals, and maybe one dinner meal (if you are able to cook). Snacks for the beach and adventuring are always important too! Water is okay to drink, but I would get filtered water. Some Airbnbs might have Brita filter water already. You are welcome to eat at all the food trucks, if you're not worried about spending money. Also there is two SMALL grocery stores here. Triple the price for everything. I highly suggest, if you are on a time crunch, shop on the target app or online Whole Foods option on amazon. They bring your groceries to your car! Makes shopping so much quicker. Costco is also an option if you want to go all out!
Koki Beach- A red sand beach with a beautiful view of ‘Ālau Island. Hamoa Beach- My favorite beach, perfect sand and if the ocean is calm great for snorkeling. Also has great waves for surfing. Friday Farmers Market- (2:30pm-4:30pm) I urge you to go check it out. It's located in the middle of town near the gas station. Hana Bay- Perfect spot to take the littles, and have a picnic Waiʻānapanapa State Park- Need a Reservation to enter https://dlnr.hawaii.gov/dsp/parks/maui/waianapanapa-state-park/ Hana LAVA tube-(10:30pm-3:00pm) Take a short walk through a huge lava tube! https://roadtohana.com/hana-caves.php Kahanu botanical Garden- (11am-2pm) Located on Ulaino Rd. This is where the older Hawaiian temple is located! super neat! https://www.googleadservices.com/pagead/aclk?sa=L&ai=DChcSEwjo85Gog-iJAxVmNtQBHb2oPHoYABADGgJvYQ&ae=2&co=1&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI6PORqIPoiQMVZjbUAR29qDx6EAAYASAAEgJqTvD_BwE&ohost=www.google.com&cid=CAASJORoaGnd_0pHrbc0MsxYa5I5yTR58YtPlhT0JU37GOBSzxfImQ&sig=AOD64_1bHDsGJ4AIkatoFBaDpYDbiGQzxg&q&adurl&ved=2ahUKEwiVpIyog-iJAxXC8MkDHSgPAoAQ0Qx6BAhWEAM&nis=8&dct=1&suid=27939389178 Open Mic Night! It only happens on the first Fridays of each month. Located down at Koki beach, it a place where locals get to play music and express themselves! From 9pm-12pm
Crazy! There is only ONE gas station in Hana, and it's about $6.30 for a gallon!
Yes! There is a small hopper plane that flys right over my house two times a day. Mokolele Airlines runs it. https://www.mokuleleairlines.com If you were staying at the Hyatt hotel I recommend this option, they will let you rent one of their cars, otherwise you should probably drive the road.
NO! You can only rent a car in Kahului. Turo is a great app for rentals. Cheaper then the ones at the airport. The road to Hana Is an amazing journey. Take it all in!!
2 HOURS each way! More if you choose to stop at places. Please do not book a flight where you are rushing to the airport.
