Powell's is one of the largest bookstores in the world and takes up an entire city block. Located Downtown, it is also one of the true tourist attractions that local Portlanders use just as much as out-of-towners. Make sure to snag a map when you first enter, or take your time getting lost in the stacks. Whatever you do make sure to check out the Rare Books Room on the top floor!
Located Downtown and full of incredible art, we cannot recommend this museum more. Be sure to check out their exhibit on Laika Studios, the local stop-animation studio behind Coraline, The Box Trolls, and Kubo and the Two Strings.
We're hoping the leaves will be in peak color for our wedding so please check out our famous Japanese Garden with incredible views of the city.
This converted Elementary school features a full service movie theater (with matinees for kids), a soaking pool, billiards tables and games in the Boiler Room, and a four seater bar in the "Janitor's Closet". Order a drink and take it to go explore the property, with seemingly endless Easter Eggs to find.
Located just an hour outside of the city is Oregon Wine Country. One of our favorite vineyards is Dominio IV, but the surrounding area produces some of the best wine in the country. You cannot go wrong with any options in this area. Wandering through orchards of Hazelnut trees with a glass of wine in hand is only a drive away.
If you have the time, a trip up to Mt. Hood is an absolute must. This iconic lodge is located at the top of the mountain and facilitates many hikes in the area. To make a whole day of it, we'd recommend a 'quick' loop around Trillium Lake before snagging a bite to eat at the lodge.
