It was my first full day in Colorado. We had gotten here bright and early knowing that my new apartment complex would be packed with people moving in. We waited forever, I finally met my roommates, & then my mom dropped me at the UHL house for mandatory orientation. While my mom and brother were busy putting away my belongings, I sat in a dark room waiting for the UHL students to show. After some time, the room was filled with white-eyed, anxious freshman. We all sat there collectively waiting for someone to come in and start, and after what felt like forever, they numbered us into small teams with whom we would spend the day with getting to know the campus, each other, the older UHL students, and the program. We had several spots to visit with questions to answer and ask. I'll be honest, I was not excited for MORE ice breakers, or the small games they made us play, and I didn't want to be there for the 8 hours they had planned, but I was excited to make a new friend. Looking back, I truly had no idea, that new friend would shortly develop to be my best friend, and then my crush, and then into my amazing boyfriend, who is now my perfect fiancé, and soon, my forever partner and husband. I love being able to tell the story of us. After meeting Steven that fine August day, He wouldn't leave my mind. I saw him once a week, Fridays, when we had our UHL class period. No one else was on campus or had classes on Friday's and so we found ourselves wandering campus when we had time to kill before or in-between class. We started talking every Friday for most of the day, especially because he sat right in front of me during our class period and we were there all day. Steve would play these small games with me to see my reaction. At the time I didn't realize he was testing the waters with his crush... ME!!!! He put his hand in front of me to see if id grab it and being the love struck gal I was, of course I held his hand right away. Steven started inviting me, along with some of our other classmates to come over to his dorm for lunch in between class and to hangout. I quickly made a group of friends and Steve and I were best buds! One day I booped his nose and unfortunately that struck something in him. We didn't talk for 2 weeks. I surely thought that I had ruined what we had going, and admittedly a bit sad, until that next Friday right after class, when he finally asked for my snapchat, it went something like this.. S: So...I see you have a snapchat K: Yes. I do. S: Ah..you don't have me added on there.. K: Yep, I don't. S: aha..ouch K: *OMG HE LIKES ME* Oh um sorry, could I add you? I didn't realize you were asking for my info! S: HAHA yeah here mine is K: Awesome, Ill see and talk to you later! About five minutes later, we were both at our separate apartments and talked for the entire night; every 2 minutes my phone would buzz, and it would be him. The next day we had our first unofficial date, dinner at a diner with his roommates, last minute of course, and watching Monty Python and the Holy Grail after I asked to hangout a little longer. Two days later after hanging out some more, making dinner, and watching several more movies, Steven asked if he could kiss me, to which of course I said "SURE" trying not to blush, throw up, and cry altogether I was so nervous. That kiss was like the first fresh breath of air to my lungs. He always shows that he's my person. He had me strung around his finger the day I met him, and he still does today! I can't explain it, he makes me feel love I'd never dreamt of getting the chance to feel. I know with him I am safe, cared for, loved, and above anything, his number 1! I thank god daily for the angel he sent to me when I met Steven. He truly is the best person I know and Ill forever be blessed with his presence in all the roles he may fill. Steven, With you I feel like I'm on top of the world. You'll forever hold my heart. ILYBIAEGSLYB
