We met when we both made the crazy decision to move away from our family and friends, to start our nursing career in New Orleans. Kaelyn sat next to Nich on the second day of their new adventure and there was no surprise she started a conversation with him (she thought he was really cute lol). That day the rain poured and the streets flooded, and poor Nich had walked to work. Kaelyn offered him a ride and ended up asking for his number when she dropped him off. She wanted a friendship and Nich knew he had to have her for his own. After asking her out on a date multiple times, she finally said yes to being his girlfriend. The rest is history!

Nich told Kaelyn he wanted to take her out on a nice date since they had been working so much and they deserved a nice day off together. She bought a new outfit, got her nails done, and had a slight idea that tonight was the night he would propose to her. They started the day by going into the French Quarter and hopping on to "the only true steamboat", the Natches. It was a running joke that Nich would propose to Kaelyn on this boat... She told him he better not propose to her there because she would be terrified to drop the ring into the Mississippi River. After the Natches, he took her to her favourite bar, the Carousal, and then onto G.W. Fins where they had the best meal of their lives. Afterwards he took her down a dark alley and punched a secret code into a door... revealing this amazing boutique hotel he had reserved for the night. Complete with champagne! He (finally!) asked her to marry her and through her tears she said YES!
