We’re getting married!

We officially met in 5th grade at Nancy Elementary School. Carlos and I became best friends and were notorious for getting in trouble for talking in Mr. Rollyson’s class. When Carlos finally asked me to be his girlfriend, I said… “nope.” We lost touch throughout middle school and most of high school, but the night of Military Ball our junior year, we reconnected with a dance, and I looked at our best friend and said “Wow, he got CUTE.” He was attending a different high school, so that was the last we saw of each other for a while. And then, he left. He was gone the entire summer before senior year for basic training. When he returned in August, we reconnected once again. We had our official first date, which was a disaster. It consisted of a sighting of an ex, a dead truck, an emergency trip to Walmart, and a bruised lip. I vowed to never see Carlos again because the date was SO bad. Clearly, the Lord had different plans. The following Monday I walked into the guidance office of my high school to see Carlos registering for classes which meant we would be seeing a lot more of each other. In less than a month, in the parking lot of an ice cream shop, he asked me to officially be his girlfriend, and this time I had enough sense to say yes. We went through our senior year, graduation, first semester of college, months apart due to AIT and attending school, and our fair share of ups and downs, but we seemed to always find our way back to each other. Even through a 9 month deployment, we knew that the love we share was absolutely worth the wait. So, on July 3rd, 2021, when Carlos got down on one knee in front of the elephants at the St. Louis Zoo, he didnt even have to finish asking. I knew immediately that this was the man I wanted to spend forever with. We are so grateful and thrilled to spend this special moment with you, our friends and family, and can’t wait for our big day!
