General Travel Information

There are a few options for flying into the area, each with its own pros and cons. Please see our recommendations for the three closest airports.

John Wayne Airport (SNA)

"Our recommended destination for most travelers." This airport is close to the venue, easy to navigate and the most similar to Eppley in terms of traffic and busyness. This airport also has great food options and plenty to do while waiting for your flight. However, the flights here are more expensive than LAX and there are no direct flights to Omaha.

LA International Airport (LAX)

"If you can brave the LA traffic, you may find a great deal." LAX is the largest airport of the three with the most flight options. This airport has direct flights from Omaha and the most affordable options. However, LAX is the furthest airport from the venue (33 miles away. 45 minutes without traffic, 1 hour and 30 minutes during rush hour). LAX can also be very crowded and difficult to navigate.

Long Beach Airport (LGB)

"There's nothing better than an outdoor bar at an airport." This is the best airport of the three, but there are few available or affordable flights from Omaha. It is worth checking, but will likely be too expensive. However, if you are coming from a Jet Blue hub, this is the place to go.

SpringHill Suites by Marriott Huntington Beach ~ 3.8 miles from venue ~ "Walking distance to restaurants and shopping." Hyatt Regency Newport Beach ~ 11.3 miles from venue ~ "A very nice area. Next to the Fashion Island shopping center. Further from the venue, but an easy drive up the coast to the venue. The nicest of the mid-range options." Travelodge Ocean Front Sunset Beach ~ 5.4 miles from venue ~ "It's located right on the sand... Need we say more?" The Pacific Inn Seal Beach ~ 8.8 miles from venue ~ "Located in a small beach town with many food and drink options. Blocks from the beach. An easy drive down the coast to the venue."

Balboa Bay Resort Newport Beach ~ 9.5 miles from venue ~ "Most affordable Splurge option. On the water next to the Newport Marina. Also easy drive up the coast to the venue. Many food and drink options within walking distance." The Waterfront Beach Resort by Hilton Huntington Beach ~ 4 miles from venue ~ "Across the street from the beach. Potential waterfront view. Has a fantastic rooftop bar (which is accessible even if you’re not staying here)." Kimpton Shorebreak Resort Huntington Beach ~ 3.5 miles from venue ~ "Across the street from the beach. Walking distance to LOTS of food and drink options."

"Do not forget to check out Airbnb and Vrbo! There are lots of options close to the venue, and you can find amazing deals for great stays, especially if you find other people who want to split a house. Plus, you will likely have a full kitchen so you don't have to eat out every meal. This is the recommended option if you are with a group or planning an extended stay."
