Kaela and Miguel have known each other for about 10 years. They met on a fateful day in downtown Austin. Kaela had accepted an invitation to meet the new bar manager of Isla, in Austin's Warehouse District, a world that seems so long past. When she entered the door, Miguel was struck, the afternoon sun shining through and her beautiful hair shining just as bright. Truth be told, it took 7 years for him to even accept that there was someone else in the room. From the moment they met, Miguel could hear her professionalism, knowledge, and wit, all rare qualities in the world that they inhabited, teasing that she was different than anyone he had ever met. While Kaela was making a name for herself in the City and Miguel was pushing to achieve his dreams, they could not let the thought of each other go and maintained contact when others might have given up. As they re-found each other at the end of the pandemic, their lives have only grown richer and more rewarding. Their travels have taken them from the highest peaks (over 12,000 feet!) to some of the most beautiful beaches the United States. Surviving clawed their way from surviving to thriving, working together and loving their beautiful dog, Pearl, culminating in the achievement of buying a home and living in the city where they met, fell in love in, and will build their future together. The shared dreams, goals, and lives that they have expressed has only deepened their affection and love for one another. In Kaela, Miguel finally has the partner that he always wanted: adventurous, loving, and bold. And in Miguel, Kaela has finally found someone that understands, and loves, her ambition and refusal to settle for less. Their journey has not been easy but it will serve as a foundation to build their ideal future - together.
