Things To Do

For those traveling to the area, here are a few places that have been special to us. For those from here, maybe there is somewhere you have not quite checked out yet.

YOSTERIA

252 Valley Street, Youngstown, OH 44505

Youngstown is notorious for their Italian heritage. Not only is this probably Kieran’s favorite restaurant, but Kae will agree it is the best Italian option around. You cannot find a better meatball stateside.

Poland Municipal Forest

Poland, OH 44514

Weather permitting, it is a lovely walking trail. Keep an eye out for the bridge we got engaged on. It is our favorite place to walk on a nice (or especially on a stormy) day.

Bogey's Bar & Grill

3535 Upland Avenue, Lowellville, OH 44436

We would be amiss not recommending the best wings around. “Wings is good” -Kieran

The Butler Institute of American Art

524 Wick Avenue, Youngstown, OH 44502

A free art exhibit located on the edge of YSU’s campus. Celebrating the preservation and variety of American artistry. We have been known to frequent a time or two.

Handel's Ice Cream Poland Ohio

6594 Clingan Road, Youngstown, OH 44514

If you’re from a town that does not have this ice cream shoppe, you have to try it. It originated in the area and has franchised across the country. Although you cannot go wrong with any flavor, french silk pie/ chocolate cake batter/ strawberry chzcake chunk are our top contenders.

Daffin's Candies

496 East State Street, Sharon, PA 16146

Home of the Chocolate Kingdom. The smell of chocolate exudes from every portion of the building. There are several Daffin’s locations around worth stopping at to get a locally made candy bar or candy confection. However, the Sharon location is the original with in house batched chocolate life-sized animals, ferris wheel, fire breathing dragon, etc. Truly a local sight to behold.
