Manila should be your first destination to get to the wedding in Tagaytay (about an hour away). All major airports lead to Ninoy Aquino International Airport in Manila. We recommend you stay at Bonifacio Global City (BGC). Places to visit and things to do: • intramuros • go shopping at some of the largest malls • indulge in a spa day at New Lasema Spa Jjimjilbang or I’m Onsen Spa • eat local Filipino foods at Market Market or the fort • visit the local museums like Ayala Museum and National Museum of the Philippines
Tagaytay is our wedding location! Just an hour south of Manila (where you will be landing), on Luzon Island. This town sits on a ridge overlooking the Taal volcano, which will be visible at the venue.
Hinunangan is where Kaela’s roots are from and where her family’s beach farm is located. From Manila, you need to take a one hour plane ride to Tacloban then another 2-3 hour drive through mountains. Travel to her home town is not for the weak, but it is one of the most beautiful and remote locations if you’re looking to unplug and connect with nature. There are very little tourists who reach that part of the Philippines. Things to do: • visit the twin islands, only a 15-30 min boat ride • hike and swim to waterfalls • surf in Hinunangan (right behind Kaela’s high school) or in Silago If you’re interested in visiting - please reach out to Kaela directly for help on planning this leg of your trip.
