Mineral Belt Trail
Our go-to spot for biking and running around Leadville in the summer! The Mineral Belt Trail is a 17 mile loop around Leadville, and you can hop on about two blocks from FREIGHT. There are also a number of single-track dirt trails for mountain biking/running/hiking off the main paved trail!

Turquoise Lake
Beautiful recreation area just a short drive from downtown Leadville. Camping available if you're planning a longer stay!
Leadville Railroad
The historic Leadville railroad runs scenic trips up into the mountains around Leadville - a fun way to get a sense of the area and its history, as well as check out the beautiful scenery (including wildflowers! : )
National Mining Hall of Fame and Museum
Learn a bit about Leadville's mining history - and check out some dinosaur tracks and a meteorite!
Matchless Mine
Historic Matchless Mine is located in the mining district (near the ceremony site) and is open to the public all summer!
City on a Hill Coffee & Espresso
Hands down, the best coffee/breakfast/snack spot in town!
Silver Llama
Great spot for snacks or lunch; one of our favorite restaurants in town!
Independence Pass
A bit of a trek, but worth it for the view! We'd suggest making this drive if you have the time while you're in the area!
Twin Lakes
A number of awesome rock climbing spots just west of Twin Lakes - hit us up for specific recommendations if you're looking to hit the crag while you're in town!
