The first time Ben and I talked was when he called to ask me to prom my sophomore year (his junior year) of high school. We had mutual friends but had somehow never really quite met in person before. On the night of prom, I was so impressed with how incredibly sweet and kind Ben was. He went above an beyond to be a gentleman that was different than most teenage boys. After prom, we dated for about 3 1/2 years. Over the course of these years, we went on several dates, went to proms, homecomings, and even college formals. In the spring of 2015, we broke up and had no clue if we would ever date again. Although we tried our hardest to run in different circles throughout college, we somehow always ended up running into each other and catching up. After graduating from Georgia Southern, Ben and I both got jobs in Atlanta. Eventually, time and distance caught up to us and we took a chance on our relationship again. From that first date, we have been inseparable. We currently live in Atlanta with our best little golden retriever friend, Murphy!

As many of you know, Kady and I love to get away and take short weekend trips away from our regular busy schedules. For valentines weekend we planned a great trip up to the mountains in western north carolina, our favorite get away spot. Our first night of our trip was spent doing what we do best; winding down with good music, good wine, and a card game. If you know Kady Crump well this is her natural state. I couldn't think of a better time to pop the question. So as she was celebrating beating me at a card game, I got down on one knee and popped the question! Luckily, she said yes.
