We met on October 8, 2012 at European Street Cafe in San Marco. We were attending a meetup group. I had been going to the same group for years, it was Dustin's first time. He walked in and I was immediately drawn to him but I had no idea that he would be the man I would spend the rest of my life with. This was a Monday. We saw each other again on Tuesday and Thursday, both in group settings. Thursday night we had our first kiss on the dance floor at The Loft while Mr. Brightside played. Sunday we had our first official date. A series of events led us to quickly living together by mid December of 2012. This would for sure be make it or break it. Lucky for us, it was make it. In May of 2014 we moved to Cleveland, OH and lived there for 15 months. We truly fell in love there. That is where I realized I never wanted to know life without Dustin. In August of 2015, we moved to Memphis, TN. We lived in a tiny apartment while our dream home was being built. On December 29, 2015, we made the decision to elope. We were married that night, in the dark, in our home that was just some 2x4s. I knew I wanted to spend the rest of my life with him and all I wanted was to be his wife. Apparently, he wanted it just as badly. We moved into our home a few months later in March. On May 6, 2017, Dustin surprised me while on a normal trip to Jacksonville. We ended up at the scene of the crime, the place we met. He lured me outside where we sat on a bench and told me how much he loved me and reflected on our journey a bit. He then pulled out the most amazing engagement ring I have ever seen. For the first time in my adult life, I was 100% surprised. Life has been full of ups and downs for us both. However, knowing that we have each other means that we can face anything. We are stronger because we know that the other one is always there, side by side, hand in hand. I could have searched for the rest of my life and not ever found a more perfect partner. Some things are well worth the wait.
