Question

Seems like you should probably address Covid-19...

Answer

You're probably right! We've thought long and hard about it and have decided to postpone the celebration indefinitely. We'll likely still get married on our chosen date, since 10/10/2020 is hard to beat, but in a small private ceremony. We immensely appreciate the love and support we've received throughout the planning process and we hope to be able to celebrate with each and every one of you in the future, when it is safer to do so.

Question

But what should I wear?

Answer

Something you feel good in! The strictest restraint is that you should wear something that is appropriate for a Catholic church. However, since such generalities aren’t really all that helpful, we suggest a nice dress or slacks and a dress shirt.

Question

Where should I stay?

Answer

We’ve reserved a block of rooms at the hip Eaton hotel and at the stalwart Grand Hyatt, both in City Center. There are a bunch of other hotels in the area to choose from if neither of those tickle your fancy. See the "Travel" page above for more information.

Question

You've put me in City Center, but the church is way across town! How do I get there?

Answer

For the budget conscious: You can take Metro! Slip on some walking shoes and head to the Metro Center station at 11th and G. From there, take the orange, blue, or silver line in the direction of New Carrollton/Largo Town Center. Get off at the Stadium-Armory station (take the "STADIUM THIS WAY" exit), walk to the stoplight and take a left on East Capitol. The church is about 5 blocks ahead on the left. For those who rented a car: I'll let Google Maps be the skipper for the most part. There's street parking near the church, but if you can't find a good spot, head to the parking lot behind the school; the entrance to the lot is an alleyway located between 15th and 16th Streets. For those who would rather avoid the headache of figuring out trains and/or parking lots: Uber and Lyft are ubiquitous in DC and the door-to-door option is a good one.

Question

I can’t eat meat/gluten/dairy/almonds/cinnamon. Can you still feed me?

Answer

We can! Between Elliott’s food sensitivities and Kathryn’s (punishing) year as a vegan, we’ve amassed quite the know-how in navigating the most complicated of food restrictions. Please just note it in your RSVP and we’ll take care of you.

Question

I’m very busy and important. When is the absolute last day I can RSVP?

Answer

Please let us know by August 10th!

Question

Who did the awesome illustrations for your website header and invitation suite?

Answer

We worked with Samantha of PublicHouseCo on Etsy! She was just awesome and we couldn't recommend her more highly! You can see more of her work at https://www.etsy.com/shop/PublicHouseCo.

Question

You haven’t answered my question and I don’t know where to turn.

Answer

We’re sorry! Feel free to reach out to us at elliottandkathryn@gmail.com for answers to any and all remaining questions.
