Ben had applied for a job in Alabama before we ever met, and he accepted it not long after. Looking back, the timing feels a lot like fate — we met in this brief window where our paths actually got the chance to cross. From the very beginning, everything just felt so easy — like we’d known each other far longer than we really had. On our second date, we ended up talking for hours. That conversation showed us how naturally our lives fit together and how similar our hopes and dreams were. It was the moment we both realized our connection was something special. Not long after, we took a leap and moved to Alabama together, a place where we didn’t know anyone but each other. That chapter became such a meaningful part of our story. It’s where we learned how to build a life side by side and where we adopted our sweet dog, Piper. Two years later, life brought us back to Pittsburgh. That winter, while decorating our Christmas tree in our first home together, Ben proposed in the most perfect and intimate way.
