The first time we met was in Kindergarten, remaining friends all through high school, and went on to see each other periodically throughout college. I guess we owe the start of our story to Logan Toone, who invited both of us to a get together where our relationship would begin. I was down from College Station, in the process of finding a job closer to home, Logan saw me in town and invited me to his little get together. Later that day Logan stopped by Cameron's to tell him, "Your girlfriend is coming to the party this evening" where Cameron went on to question "My girlfriend?” (he had no idea what Logan was talking about until he explained himself) Later that evening as Cameron was leaving the house he yelled to his mom, "bye mom I'm going to get my girlfriend tonight" and walked out the door. I remember when I walked up that night and saw Cameron my stomach instantly had butterflies, he went on to say, "Oh hello Kaci, how are you doing?" and the rest is history. We continued talking all of that night and all the next night and have not stopped since.
Cameron had asked, if I would like to go riding around in the golf cart after work, which sounded like a great plan. When work was finished, I drove home and continued my normal routine, expecting Cameron to be there soon. Well by the time he showed up it had been a few hours and I was wearing my sweat pants playing with our potbelly pigs in the yard and watering plants (not very attractive..lol). He went on to explain some complications had come up at work and having to make multiple stops on the way out to my house. As we sent out on our evening ride, we had music playing and were just driving around talking. As he stopped the golf cart at the entrance of the place, I asked if he wanted to go find the turkeys nest over on the next hill and I will never forget him saying no, we had talked about finding it multiple times and now seem like as good of time as any. As I was sarcastically saying OK, he asked me to play my favorite song on the stereo, as I looked through hundreds of songs I finally settle for "Fade Away". We started talking again and watching the sunset, when all of a sudden he said he had some great news, which I assumed was about work or he had bought another car. He said, " I have good news the squirrels finally finished your ring" and dropped to his knee and asked, “Will you marry me?” With shock, excitement and tons of other emotions going on I answered YES!
