WE'RE GETTING MARRIED!

After spending a year in classes together never talking to each other, we were finally introduced at the beginning of our sophomore year by our friend Sam. We were fortunate to have a close group of mutual friends, so we ended up spending lots of time getting to know each other during the first few weeks of that semester. Scott finally (and awkwardly) asked Jyothi "to do the date thing" on September 30, 2015. For our first date, we went to go see a movie (Scott's pick) and then got ice cream at Jyothi's favorite place. Scott later told Jyothi that he picked the movies because he was worried we would run out of things to talk about - almost 6 years later, this still hasn't been a problem.

In January of 2020, we took a vacation out to the San Juan Mountains in Colorado. Scott planned the trip as a surprise for Jyothi's birthday. We drove up from Dallas, stopping in Santa Fe for the night (unfortunately, during a heavy winter storm), and arrived at the mountain resort we were staying at on Friday the 17th. The following day, we went for a nearby snowshoe hike through the mountains. Scott had arranged to have a picnic blanket and a bottle of champagne waiting at the end of the trail. In true Jyothi fashion, she fell into the snow as soon as Scott began to propose, but, of course, she said yes! We were lucky enough to be the only ones staying at the resort the following night, and had a wonderful meal to celebrate together before heading back to Texas.
