How We Met!

Trivia is what it took..... April 5th, 2017

She said Mortal Kombat was her favorite movie. He said "I can't believe you'd admit that online in writing." After some messaging back and forth he suggested trivia, to which she gladly accepted! Being excited as he was; he dashed straight from work, hopping the ferry and hailing an uber to meet her at the bar. In her excitement she almost canceled(this is true). She finally came to her senses and decided why not, a drink wouldn't hurt. To make it up to him, she won him 3 free beers at trivia. Since then they've been inseparable.

The Proposal

July 14th, 2017

I received an invite in my email titled, "A Lovely Evening," inviting me for cocktails and dinner at home. The one day I actually left work early, he wouldn't let back in the house. So I went down the street and occupied my time a Target. When I could finally return home, I walked into a spotless house. There were candles all over and a bouquet of roses. Our coffee table was set like we were at a restaurant, complete with fancy, cloth napkins. He spent most of the afternoon cooking this meal. We sat down and began eating. All of a sudden he opens a little black box, and in this box was a ring we had looked at the previous week while we were in St. Thomas) and asked me to marry him. Of course I said yes and here we are!

The Elopement!

August 5th, 2017

He needed a tax break and I needed insurance, so we said why not? All jokes aside, we were actually booked to go to Lollapalooza that weekend in Chicago. When we started joking about getting married for tax breaks, it actually kind of made sense. We also decided that we really didn't want to wait to get married and all the huge fuss with a large wedding. We finally agreed and booked a Vegas chapel. Her mom and grandma came out (thinking it was a just a nice weekend getaway). His mom would have come too, but she was on the trip of a lifetime in Alaska. His sister jokingly refused to meet her until after the wedding, even though she says otherwise. And a small group of amazing friends came out (who apparently didn't have anything better to do that weekend). We finally said, "I DO," sans Elvis(he wouldn't allow it). Now we want to celebrate with you!
