Sawyer is my brother and has been my best friend since he showed up. He's the more athletic, bearded half of the Gerdes Bros.

I met Josh in 6th grade and we made a blood pact that we would be each other's best men in our weddings. He is responsible for me moving to Eugene, and probably for getting me into pursuing writing and teaching. I've known him for far too long, but he is as much of a brother as Sawyer is.

Max has been one of my best friends and was my roommate for years in Portland. He always brings the party and often, the Popeyes.

Gio is one of my oldest friends, and we lived together once we both graduated from high school. I had the privilege of marrying him and his wife, Cecily. They are a constant presence in our lives.

Jeremy was one of the first people I met at the U of O. We lived together for years and he and his wife were responsible for raising me in my early 20's.

Sean was responsible for convincing me to move to Portland. He is the only person on the list that I was never officially roommates with, though we lived at one another's apartments for week long stretches of binging on video gaming and Chinese food.
