How We Met

August 2015

I got a job at Centennial bank's main branch in Conway a few months before Justin was hired at the North Branch. Within those months I was asked to be a float teller, meaning I would cover at all of the branches in the surrounding area. Thank God I said yes! I just so happened to be covering at Justin's branch the first day he started his job. We worked so many nights together where there were just 3 of us closing the bank. On slow nights when all there was to do was talk, that's exactly what we did..just talked. Inevitably him & I became really good friends, but I didn't think much of it considering I became great friends with everybody else as well! We all got so close that we would get together almost every weekend at my apartment to swim and play volleyball. Being a single girl at age 21 who was learning to live alone, I wasn't looking for anything. However, falling in love with Justin crept up on me. We had so many mutual friends we were just constantly together. In the back of my head I wondered if I was starting to develop feelings for him but I just kept telling myself no, that I was thinking into it to much. Then, one day I was in the parking lot of Dick's Sporting Goods and saw Justin walking in, I yelled "hey!" from my car and he turned around and waved at me and started walking towards my car. We carried on a conversation that led to a pinky promise on plans to go out together that weekend. The weekend rolled around and plans got canceled day of, I was SO upset. That's the moment I realized I couldn't deny I had feelings for him. Eventually we rescheduled and got to hang out just the two of us. We continued to hang out and talk for about 4 months before the day came where he casually asked me at work saying, "are you my girl...friend?" I said "I guess so." 4 years later, he asked me to be his wife. *Side note: in 2013 we had a class together in college and had absolutely no idea until we started dating!

The Proposal

August 2020

When I first thought about proposing to Hannah, I had a hundred ideas come to mind at once. I had to filter through all of the things that were reasonable though. I knew I wanted to do it when we were on vacation or somewhere special. I had initially wanted to do it during our cruise in April of 2020. It would have been her birthday week and it was almost the perfect scenario until...Covid. The cruise was cancelled and we were forced to reschedule for another date. At that time, I was a little upset because I didn't want to wait any longer. We had scheduled another cruise for the Summer but, shocker, that one was also cancelled. At this point, Hannah was starting to get antsy about what type of vacation we would be able to take and when we would be able to take it during the pandemic. I was anxious too, but for other reasons. We finally came to an agreement to take a week-long road trip all the way to California and back. This one had no chance of being cancelled and it was the end of Summer so I knew this was my last shot for quite a while. The dates worked out for the proposal day to be on my birthday too! On the morning we woke up to go to the Grand Canyon, I had to reposition the hiding spot of the ring since I had to have it handy for the big moment. I was extremely nervous the entire morning but I must have hid it well because Hannah claims she had no idea anything was coming. Once we made it to the Grand Canyon and had walked around a bit, I spotted a perfect spot that was somewhat secluded, but still had a great view of the canyon and scenery. I had the ring in my pocket, and used the tripod to set up the phone to video us. The whole time she thought I was taking pictures, I was starting the phone to record. Then, I was finally able to get down on one knee and ask the question I had been trying to ask for months.. SHE SAID YES!!
