Suggestions If You Are Traveling From Out of Town

Sandy Point State Park is a pretty popular family beach! It’s calm water and you can see the Bay Bridge from there. Our wedding venue is on a more private side of the park but there is also a big public area that is nice for picnics and swimming and it has some nice walking paths. Our favorite MD beach is Assateague, with wild ponies and beautiful water views! It is a little farther out though, about the same distance as Ocean City. From where we live in Columbia, MD it’s over the Bay Bridge and about 2 1/2-3 hours away so this would depend on how far you wish to venture out. Ocean City is fun too! It’s usually a pretty busy place but a fun strip to drive down too with plenty of other activities to do along with going to the beach. When we did some research, Downtown Annapolis is the recommended spot to stay near Sandy Point because it is supposed to be about 15 minutes away and that is a beautiful place in itself to explore. So these are just a few suggestions around the area but there are many other beautiful places to explore if you choose to do so!
